Projeto Advocacia Popular
Jointly coordinated by Caritas and Serve, the GRASROOTS LAWYERS programme is a strategy for tackling the problem of access to justice for the marginalized in Parnaiba, Piauí in northeast Brazil. It seeks to capacitate community leaders on legal rights issues and equip them with skills to deliver basic services which don’t require qualified lawyers. Building on the course, community-based legal advice clinics will be set-up and delivered by course participants, with the support of a lawyer.
